Meditation Guide
"ON MEDITATION"
"When I talk about meditation, I mean only one thing:
systematically training the mind to focus completely on a lofty ideal
until that ideal absorbs our every faculty and passion.

"The central principle of meditation is that we become what we meditate
on." Over time, the transformation taking place in our character and
consciousness is bound to show itself in our daily reflections.
"Part of this transformation is accomplished in meditation, but the rest
is done during the day. Meditation generates power that needs to be put
to constructive use, particularly in healing our relationships.
"Saint Francis once said
that we pray to partake of the peace of the Lord, but that the hours of
the day are meant for spreading this peace in the places where people
dwell.
"When things go wrong at home, for instance, we need to try to remain
patient and sympathetic. When someone at work is curt to us, we need to
harness the strength found in meditation to move closer and show that
person some special kindness."
